Once you have installed Eudora 5.1 for Macintosh, it is quite easy
to configure it to download your Timewarp email. All configuration
is done from the Settings box:
- Open Eudora 5.1 by double clicking the hard drive, double clicking
on the Eudora Application Folder and double clicking on the Eudora
icon.
- Select the Special menu and then select Settings.
The Settings box will present the Getting Started
category highlighted like so:

- Type in the following:
- Username: replace with your own username (your email
address but with @ instead of .)
- Mail Server: mail.timewarp.co.uk
- Real name: this is where you type the name that people
see when you send an email to them. Just display name not important..
- SMTP Server: mail.timewarp.co.uk
- Return address: if this is the same as your e-mail
address you do not need to fill this in.
- Now click on the Checking Mail category and you will
see the following settings appear:

Eudora 5.1 will copy both the Username and Mail Server details.
- Make sure that you have POP selected for Mail Protocol
- Make sure that you have Passwords selected for Authentication
The rest of the settings are optional however Timewarp has found
that some of them can streamline the use of Eudora. For example
ticking Save Password means you will not have to re-type
your password every time you check your mail. Also, you can set
Eudora 5.1 to Check for mail every X number of minutes.
In other words, check your email account for new email automatically.
Timewarp recommends the following settings for the Checking
Mail category:
- Save password - ticked
- Check for mail every 10 minute(s)
- Use background threading - ticked
- Send on check - ticked
- Next click the Sending Mail category and you will see
the following:

Again Eudora 5.1 will copy the SMTP server details. Most other
other settings here are again optional however some can be very
useful. For example ticking Keep Copies allows you to keep
a copy of every email you send in your Out box, for your own records.
For smooth emailing Timewarp recommends the following settings
for the Sending Mail category:
- Allow authorization - ticked
- Immediate send - ticked
- Send on check - ticked
- Use separate thread for sending - ticked
- Fix curly quotes - ticked
- Keep copies - ticked
- Next click the SSL category and you will see the following:

All of the SSL settings should be set to None
Those are all the settings you need, your installation of Eudora
5.1 is now configured for use with your Timewarp email account!
