Help - Dial-up

1. Click the Start button
2. Click Settings
3. Click Control Panel
4. Double click the Network Connections shortcut

   

5. Right Click your Timewarp Dial-Up Networking connection setting
6. Click Properties

   

7. Ensure only one modem is selected 
8. Ensure Use dialling rules is not ticked
9. Ensure Show icon in taskbar when connected is ticked
10. Click the Options tab 

    

11. Ensure Include Windows logon domain is not ticked
12. Select never from the Idle time before hanging up drop down menu
13. Click the Security tab 

    

14. Within the Security options section, ensure Typical (recommended settings) is selected
15. Within the Validate my identity as follows section, ensure Allow unsecured password is selected
16. Click the Networking tab 

    

17. Ensure the Type of dial-up server I am calling is PPP: Windows 95/98/NT4/2000, Internet
18. Click the Settings button

    

19. Ensure Negotiate multi-link for single link connections is not ticked
20. Click the OK button
21. Under the section titled Components checked are used by this connection, ensure Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is ticked
22. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
23. Click the Properties button

    

24. Select Obtain DNS server address automatically ( you can set manually to address on next lines)
25. Within the Preferred DNS server box, type 217.149.108.10
26. Within the Alternate DNS server box, type 217.149.108.11
27. Click ok

    

28. Click the advanced tab

    

29. Click the Settings button

    

30. We recommend that switch on the windows firewall unless you have another firewall on your system.
31. Click Ok

    

32. Click OK

    Your Windows 2000 based computer now has a Dial-Up Networking connection setting configured for connecting to Timewarp.
