Help - Dial-up

Windows 98 Help - Editing your connection
  1. From your desktop, double click My Computer
  2. Double click Dial-Up Networking
  3. Click your Timewarp Dial-Up Networking connection setting
  4. Click the File menu
  5. Click Properties

  6. Ensure Use area code and Dialing Properties is ticked, you can have this unticked but the dial-up number must then be entered in full.
  7. Click the Server Types tab

  8. Ensure Type of Dial-Up Server is PPP: Internet, Windows NT Server, Windows 98
  9. Ensure Log on to network is not ticked
  10. Ensure NetBEUI is not ticked
  11. Ensure IPX/SPX Compatible is not ticked
  12. Click TCP/IP Settings...

  13. Select Server assigned name server addresses (however you can enter the name servers as below)
  14. Within the Primary DNS box, type 217.149.108.10
  15. Within the Secondary DNS box, type 217.149.108.11
  16. Click OK
  17. Click the Scripting tab

  18. Your Windows 98 based computer now has a Dial-Up Networking connection setting configured for connecting to Timewarp. To connect now...

  19. Within the Dial-Up Networking window, double click on your Timewarp Dial-Up Networking connection setting

  20. Within the User name box, type your username
  21. Within the Password box, type your password

    Your username and password are case sensitive - your username will always be in lowercase, whereas your password should be typed as shown on the documentation you've received.
