as there are too many different types used. However you will find

DSL Filters, or Micro filters, are required to separate the
normal low frequencies associated with voice and data calls from the
higher frequencies used by your ADSL connection. The installation
of these filters is very important to ensure that your adsl connection
does not drop.
Here are 2 examples of ADSL filters:
Installing your DSL Filters:
Every telephony device (telephones, faxes, Sky boxes, and alarm
dialers) must pass through one ADSL Filter.
No device should pass through more than one DSL Filter.
If you have more than one telephony device you wish to use, and
have more than one BT wall socket, then each wall socket will require
a DSL Filter. If you have multiple BT wall sockets or extension
cables then a similar setup to the one shown below may be used:

Usernames and password are case sensitive, retype both
making sure Caps Lock is off . If unsuccessful try
the following usernames (password not require)

bt_test_user@dsl.timewarp.co.uk
if unsuccessful call Timewarp helpdesk to raise a fault. |
| USB Lights not solid |
Re-install all usb drivers from scratch, phone helpdesk if
problem persists. |
| Can't view web sites |
try www.bbc.co.uk - if you can't get it try http://212.58.224.124
- if this brings up the BBC web site then check your DNS settings |

| ADSL service keeps dropping connection |
Check ADSL filters first, there must be one on each telephony
device, Check drivers if USB modem, check for disconnect if
idle settings in connection settings also check disconnect after
send and receive in email program. If problem persists contact

| Can't connect with ADSL router |
Switch router off for 2 minutes then back on, if still doesn't
connect switch router off for 30minutes to complete a full line
reset. If still won't connect then raise fault via helpdesk |
